2009 CLYC First Update

The First Friday Night Grill had a lot of diners and Bingo players, and despite the foggy weather, the Saturday Breakfast had over 90 paid with more just to visit.

The following info is from Missy, our RSVP & News Person:

Hi Everyone,

Just a couple of schedule adjustments and notes from the CLYC Board.

The next GRILL NIGHT will be on Friday, June 26th as scheduled. Instead of eating 6-7, we will again have our relaxing cocktail time from 6:00-6:30 and eat from 6:30-7:30pm before BINGO. We will have mixes and lemons and limes and ice. If you would like to sign up for one time of bringing an appetizer please do so.

It is very IMPORTANT that we get RSVPs by 10am on Thursdays. Last week we had 26 RSVPS and had 45 1/3# Angus Beef hamburgers on hand. We had 50 people come so guess what??? Please email me (missymurphy2000@aol.com) or call me at 231.347.9858 with the no. of persons planning to attend. It's still only $6 and the food was all home-made and delicious on Friday and this mornings brunch. We have added a tip basket for the caterer to show our appreciation.

We plan to again start our family game nights. We have all Sunday evenings free and most Wednesdays (7:00 pm). We have played Euchre, Pop Rupp's 3-13 and have a couple of new games. I NEED TO KNOW from y'all which night is best for you and majority will rule !!!

ALSO - we are planning on WED. , JULY 8at 2:00 pm at the clubhouse to have rock painting for kids. We have the paint, brushes and old tablecloths. Each child/adult? should bring 2 or more medium smooth rocks, clean and dry. Maybe 3-8". These can be used as doorstops, paperholders, or just decorations in the garden. We may keep 1 rock for a silent auction the next grill night - starting at $2.00 - for a fund-raiser for kid's games, etc. Kay Winslow, Kathy Rupp and I are "officiating" - but only because we want to paint too !!! More help is always fun.

Please pass this on to potential club members, and make the changes on the calendar you received.

If you missed the events this week - stop by, it's looking spiffy and we're on the way to a lot of fun for all.

NOTE:  WHILE WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE SOME EXTRA FOOD FOR LAST MINUTE ATTENDEES, THOSE THAT RSVP'D GET TO GO FIRST AND THE THOSE THAT DIDN'T TAKE A RISK OF THE CATERER RUNNING OUT OF FOOD.
